"Spiral Glide" by Mary Lee Hahn

Here is a "poem movie" for Mary Lee Hahn's poem, "Spiral Glide," created by graduate student Judy Lucas. Watch it here.

This poem is featured in The Poetry Friday Anthology for Middle School in the seventh grade section, week 8, for the theme, "In the Air."

  1. The link didn't work for me but I was able to find the poem movie by going to YouTube and typing in "Spiral Glide Mary Lee Hahn." And I'm glad I did! What an outstanding poem movie--the art, music, and reading all fit the poem perfectly. (And the art was done by an 8th grader! WOW!)

  2. Thanks for alerting me to this glitch, Janet. I think it's fixed now. And I agree-- Mary Lee did a wonderful job in collaboration with her student. So evocative!

  4. Oops-- Mary Lee did indeed do a wonderful job creating this lovely poem, but I meant to say JUDY did a great job collaborating with her artistic student in creating the poem movie based on Mary Lee's poem. Oops! :-)
